Description
the full length women's wool coat florentina is an exceptional example of classical european fashion. although inspired by the traditional austrian (trachten) overcoats meant for wearing over evening dresses by ladies attending balls or concerts, the florentina was designed with authentic müller bone buttons in order to give it a more casual flair, appropriate for a variety of occasions.
the florentina also stays true to its alpine heritage with the exquisite all natural loden wool construction. the centuries old mehler mill in bavaria was chosen to produce an incredibly soft, brush finished loden wool for the florentina coat. the loden is comprised of 90% extra fine virgin wool fibers blended with 10% extra fine alpaca wool for a water repelling, warm and cozy fabric. not to mention a beautiful drape that will keep its character for generations.
careful attention was also paid to the backside of the florentina which is complemented by an inverted pleat from the waist down starting below a sewn "falscher dragoner" in the austrian fashion lexicon.
the frontside of the coat features a fine green trim all the way from the hem to and around the notched collar. the four button closure stops just below the hip to allow comfortable movement even when buttoned closed to block the wind on a chilly day.
